Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and ChatSensei. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

ChatSensei is a language coaching and conversation assistant. It uses third-party AI models to transcribe speech, translate meaning, and suggest natural replies in real time.

2. AI Output Is Not Guaranteed

Suggestions, translations, pronunciation guides, and tone choices are generated by AI systems and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or culturally inappropriate. Translation accuracy in particular varies by language pair, accent, and context.

You are solely responsible for what you choose to say or do in real-world conversations. Do not rely on ChatSensei for medical, legal, financial, safety, emergency, or other high-stakes communications without independent human verification.

3. Your Account

You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country.
You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure.
One account per person; don't share access.

4. Subscriptions, Trials, and Billing

Paid plans (monthly / annual) are billed in advance via Stripe at the price displayed at checkout.
Free trials grant full access for a limited window (e.g. 24 hours) and end automatically without converting to a paid plan unless you subscribe.
Plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
You can cancel anytime from Settings → Manage subscription. Your access continues until the end of the current paid period.

5. Refunds

Except where required by law, subscription fees are non-refundable. If you believe you were charged in error, contact support@chatsensei.com within 14 days and we'll review your case in good faith.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the service to harass, defraud, or harm others;
Record conversations without the consent of other participants where consent is legally required;
Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the service;
Use the service to generate unlawful, hateful, or sexually exploitative content;
Bypass usage limits or share paid access with people outside your household.

7. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or use the service in a way that risks harm to users, partners, or the service itself.

8. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of translations, or non-infringement.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChatSensei is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the service. Our aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim or US $50.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction listed in our company information, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction unless local consumer law gives you the right to litigate locally.
